A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday in Dallas, accused of killing his former girlfriend, Grand Prairie police reported.
John Pauley Stover was in the city jail Thursday night facing a murder charge, police said in a news release.
A passer-by called 911 at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday to report that a woman had collapsed in a front yard the 5200 block of Silver Trail and was bleeding heavily.
Officers reported that she had been stabbed several times.
Isela Sanchez, 22, died at Medical Center of Arlington at 4:12 p.m., the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported.
Grand Prairie detectives worked into the “early morning hours” Thursday and determined that the suspect is Sanchez’s ex-boyfriend.
She and Stover lived together in another city for “a time period” and broke up and she moved back home, police spokesman Mark Beseda said.
Detectives coordinated with the U.S. Marshals Service, and Stover was caught by the North Texas Fugitive Task Force in Dallas.
Stover’s bail is set at $250,000.
