Man found dead after Grand Prairie apartment shooting

A man was found dead Saturday night after a reported shooting at the Williamsburg Apartments in Grand Prairie, police said.

A man was found dead in a car Saturday night after witnesses reported hearing gunshots at an apartment complex, police said Sunday.

Patrol officers responding to the shooting call found the victim unresponsive in a vehicle at the Williamsburg Apartments in the 2400 block of S. Carrier Parkway.

He was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Authorities on Sunday morning had not released the name of the victim.

It was the third homicide in the city this year.

Police answered the call about 10:25 p.m. Saturday at the apartment complex.

A caller told a dispatcher that a man inside of a car had been shot. Another witness also reported that after hearing gunshots, a white sedan sped away from the scene.

Detectives on Sunday continued to interview witnesses, but no one has been arrested.
