An Arlington man was killed after a three-story town house being built collapsed during a thunderstorm in Dallas on Monday.
Raul Ortega Cabrera, 35, was identified by the Dallas medical examiner’s office on Tuesday.
Cabrera was a member of the Arlington band Lobillos M De Durango, according to the band’s Facebook page. He was a father of two and his wife is pregnant with their third child.
A fundraiser for Cabrebra’s family that was started by the band had raised about $1,500 as of Tuesday morning. A post on the fundraiser page said donations were to help his family with funeral expenses.

According to the band’s page, they had just played a show in Irving on Friday night.
The building collapsed at about 4 p.m. Monday when about 25 workers were at the site. Six workers were trapped in the rubble. Rescue teams were able to save five of them. Cabrera, however, died in the collapse.
The five other workers were hospitalized but did not have life-threatening injuries, Dallas fire department spokesman Jason Evans said.
The town home was under construction by Megatel Homes. The company said in a statement that “the high winds and heavy rain that Dallas is currently experiencing caused the unfinished structure to become vulnerable and collapse.”
