Police closed two shooting investigations and a home-invasion robbery case with the recent arrest of a teenage suspect, they say.
Derwayne Harvey, 19, of Arlington was arrested June 16. Police announced his arrest Wednesday on the Arlington police Twitter account.
Harvey faces charges of burglary of a habitation, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and possession of marijuana, according to records at the Tarrant County jail, where he's being detained.
Investigation into the shootings are ongoing and it's possible additional charges will be filed, said police spokesman Steven Bartolotta.
The shootings happened on May 22 and June 12 at the Las Lomas Apartments in the 800 block of Timberlake Drive, police said.
In both incidents, police believe Harvey was trying to shoot an individual or individuals, Bartolotta said. Harvey turned up on surveillance footage of the first shooting, police said.
At the scene of the May 24 home invasion in the 1700 block of Crest Grove Drive, detectives lifted a fingerprint they matched with Harvey, who had been a suspect in the shooting investigations.
