Suspect shoots victim and himself during Arlington robbery, police say

A suspect and victim both suffered gunshot wounds during a robbery in north Arlington on Wednesday evening, police said.

The incident happened about 7 p.m. in the 2400 block of Ascension Boulevard, near Brown Boulevard, said Sgt. VaNessa Harrison, police spokeswoman.

A struggle ensued between the victim and the suspect, Raymond Williams, 37. During the struggle, Williams shot the victim and himself, Harrison said.

Williams and the victim were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Williams faces a charge of aggravated assault, Harrison said.

Police were still investigating late Wednesday.
