Three students at Arlington’s Sam Houston High School were arrested Tuesday after one of them was caught with a loaded gun, police said.
The weapon was recovered without incident, said Sgt. VaNessa Harrison, police spokesman. Police at the school had received a tip that a student had a gun.
An officer found the gun, and three students were arrested because “they were all involved” in bringing the gun to school, Harrison said. The students face charges of possession of a weapon at a prohibited place.
A fourth student involved fled the scene, Harrison said.
In September, police caught a Sam Houston student with a handgun and ammunition in his binder.
Last school year, three students were arrested for making threats on social media toward Sam Houston and Bowie high schools. In February, a Bowie student was found with an unloaded gun at the school.
