Rhiannon Hanson was jogging along Country Club Drive in Mansfield on Tuesday when she felt a smack on her neck. She dropped to her knees and grabbed her face. Blood dripped down her shirt.
But it wasn’t until the next morning, when she visited her dentist, that she realized what happened: She had been struck by a BB gun, and the pellet was still lodged in her jaw.
“I didn’t have any idea,” she told the radio station. “I just thought I got hit by a rock.”

As Hanson pointed out on Facebook, she was jogging through a busy area of Mansfield — on Country Club Drive, near Masters Drive and Walnut Creek Country Club — when the incident happened.
She went to an urgent-care facility afterward, according to her Facebook post, but she had to pick up her children from school before she could get an X-ray.
The next day, she went to her to dentist, who took an X-ray and discovered the pellet.
On Thursday, Mansfield police were still investigating the shooting. No suspects had been identified, said Sgt. Michael Midkiff.
