Arlington school trustees make more campus appointments

The Arlington school board gave four interim principals their jobs formally with hiring announcements last month and promoted an additional assistant principal to principal.

Melinda Schweig, who has been interim principal at Hill Elementary since February, was named principal at the school. She is a former assistant principal at Bryant Elementary and also served as in interim principal at Crow Elementary in 2014.

Debbie Williams, who has been interim principal at Miller Elementary since last year, was appointed as principal at Miller. She was executive director of elementary education in the district from 2008 to 2014. The board also named Sheri Mohr principal at Sherrod Elementary. She has been interim principal at the school since March and was a former assistant principal at Sherrod.

Christy Strybosch, interim principal at the district’s Newcomer Center, was named principal. She is a previous assistant principal at the school and also taught for more than 10 years in the Mansfield school district.

The board also appointed Nidia Zaravar as principal at Atherton Elementary. She has been assistant principal at Rankin Elementary since 2012.
