Students at Mary Moore Elementary in southwest Arlington will have one more day of offsite classes on Wednesday, but district officials believe things will be back to normal by Thursday.
“The work at Moore is progressing,” said Leslie Johnston, school district spokesperson. “They will spend one additional day at Corey to ensure that all systems are up and running.”
The blown transformer that caused the power loss was repaired Monday; a switchgear was damaged as well and was being repaired Tuesday. The power loss only affected Moore.
Classes on Monday were cancelled.

Tuesday’s attendance plan, which Johnston described as “seamless,” will be repeated Wednesday. All car riders will be dropped off between 7:40 and 8:20 a.m. and picked up at 3:20 p.m. at the Boles Junior High gymnasium. Students will be transported via bus to Corey for the school day.
For students who purchase breakfast and/or lunch, it will be available at Corey, but choices will be limited.
Parents who need to pick up or drop off students during the school day should go directly to Corey for that.
The YMCA after-school program will be held in the Corey cafeteria.
