Around 11:40 p.m. Friday Arlington Police were on the scene of a fiery fatal accident in the block of 2300 Webb Lynn Rd.

Police are investigating a car fire that left one female dead in Arlington late Friday night.

Officers responded to a care fire at the border of Grand Prairie and Arlington near the 2400 block of Webb Lynn Road around 11:40 p.m. Friday night.

VaNessa Harrison, police spokeswoman, said that the vehicle was partially off the roadway where the driver had most likely pulled off the road due to car trouble while the vehicle was leaking fuel.

They believe the female driver was stuck and the car caught fire.

Police said that a man passing by with his family tried to assist but the fire became too intense and the female driver inside the car was unable to get out.

The identity of the female will be released pending notification to next of kin.

Police said the accident is still under investigation.
