Crews with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and local first responders have been searching for a missing kayaker at Benbrook Lake since about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Three people were aboard one kayak when an incident occurred and caused all three people to fall into the water, according to a statement from Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Two of the people were able to swim to shore, but the third person, an 18-year-old man, did not resurface, according to the statement.

Crews have been searching for the missing man since receiving the call, officials said.

The Benbrook Fire Department said in a social media post that the search would resume on Wednesday morning. A dive team from the Fort Worth Fire Department, Benbrook police, park rangers from the Army Corps of Engineers and game wardens from the state parks department also were assisting with the search, according to the post.
