Strawberry moon shines bright
June’s “Strawberry Moon” shined bright above the Metroplex in the early morning hours Wednesday. The full moon is also called a “Rose Moon,” “Thunder Moon” or “Mead Moon,” according to the National Weather Service. But strawberry is the most popular name, dating to the Algonquin Tribes who used it as a sign to begin harvesting fruits like strawberries.
