Authorities in Fort Worth reported that an off-duty police officer injured himself after he accidentally fired his weapon Sunday morning.

Fort Worth police said the off-duty officer struck himself in the leg during the incident that occurred a little after 7 a.m., in the 5000 block of Bomford Drive.

The responding officers said the DFW Airport police officer, who was off-duty at the time, was adjusting his holster when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Emergency medical services transported the officer to a downtown Fort Worth hospital.

Police said at this time the officer is in good condition.

Authorities in Fort Worth are investigating a shooting at 3828 Knox Street in southeast Fort Worth on Thursday afternoon.
