Arlington shooting death ruled a homicide
A shooting death in Arlington was ruled a homicide by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
Leroy Miller, 32, was fatally shot when he answered the door at an apartment in Arlington early Tuesday, police said.
Officers responded to the shooting at 1:12 a.m. in the 500 block of North Oak Street in Arlington.
Lt. Chris Cook, police spokesman, said multiple suspects are believed to have arrived at an upstairs apartment, knocked at the door and fired rounds into the apartment, striking Miller.
Police believe there was “some indication that drug activity” might have been happening at the apartment, Cook said.
A second person suffered an ankle injury after jumping from the upstairs apartment to the ground in an attempt to get away after the shooting started.
Miller died at 1:57 a.m. Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Police believe the shooting suspects fled on foot. They were still at large Tuesday afternoon.
