Attention, parents!

Do you need a summer event for your kids who love football, and you don’t have to pay anything?

Former Dallas Cowboys tackle Ty Nsekhe, who also is a graduate of Arlington Bowie High School, is once again giving kids a chance to play football with the professionals at his 6th Annual Youth Football Camp on June 25, and it’s all free.

The event presented by the Ty Nsekhe Foundation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arlington Bowie High School, 2101 Highbank Drive in Arlington.

“This camp is especially close to my heart because these are my old stomping grounds and it means so much to me to be in a position to be able to give back to kids and young players here,” Nsekhe said in a news release about the free event.

Boys and girls ages 6-18 will be coached by Nsekhe and other National Football League professionals at the non-contact football camp.

The young players will be taught football fundamentals, skill sets for various positions, sportsmanship and teamwork, according to the news release.

Nsekhe is an 11-year NFL veteran. He has played for the Los Angeles Rams, Washington Commanders (formerly the Washington Redskins), Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys.

Nsekhe established the Ty Nsekhe Foundation in 2017 to empower and enhance the lives of youth through mentorship, scholarships and programs designed to inspire and motivate.

“The camp provides a great opportunity for kids to have fun, be inspired, and learn from some excellent NFL role models and community leaders who can improve their football skills on the field, while helping them understand the importance of a good education and how to be a good citizen off the field,” Nsekhe said.

Registration for the youth football camp, which will be open to the first 150 boys and girls, is underway at tynfoundation.org.

Each child will receive a free T-shirt, lunch and beverages at the camp. The camp will be held at the Multi-Purpose Activity Center at Arlington James Bowie High School.

Nsekhe also will be hosting his annual “Ty Nsekhe & Friends Charity Golf Outing” at the Dallas Cowboys Golf Club on June 27 to benefit the foundation.
