A man who police believe lost control of the motorcycle he was driving fell into the main lanes of the 1400 block of East Interstate 20 and died after he was taken to a nearby hospital Friday.

The man, who has not been identified, is believed to be in his 60's, a news release from Arlington police said.

Police responded to the wreck about 12:35 p.m., the release said. Witnesses told police that the man was driving westbound and weaving in and out of traffic while making lane changes, according to the release.

The motorcyclist somehow lost control and was ejected from the bike onto the main lanes of the highway, police said.

Investigators said they believe that another passenger vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 20 struck the motorcyclist on the highway after the motorcyclist fell from the bike, according to the release.

The driver of the other vehicle stopped and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

No charges are expected ato be filed. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the speed of the motorcycle played a factor in the wreck, according to police.
