Police are searching for an Arlington boy who was last seen near Williams Elementary School about noon Friday.

Trey Ossenkop, 8, was wearing a blue or black shirt and jeans, Arlington police said in a statement. Williams Elementary is in southeast Arlington, near Green Oaks Boulevard and Matlock Road.

Police received a call about noon Friday that a child was walking near the school, in the 4900 block of Red Birch Drive. The school’s principal recognized Trey and called police and the boy’s parent.

Before officers arrived, Trey had walked into a wooded area in the 400 block of Embercrest Drive, the police statement said.

“It’s possible he ran away from home, but we need help in locating” Trey, one of the police tweets said.

Residents are asked to call 911 if they see Trey.
