-Hundreds of flights heading in and out of the Northeast have been canceled yet again by a severe snowstorm. According to this USA Today post, more than 1,800 flights have been canceled and hundreds more are being delayed because of wintry conditions that require aircraft to be de-iced before takeoff.

-This Bloomberg News columnist took U.S. airline CEOs to task for complaining about increased competition from foreign carriers, mainly those from the Persian Gulf. The top executives from several domestic carriers met in Washington D.C. last week to discuss limiting foreign carrier’s entry into U.S. airports. “If Delta, United and American Airlines are truly concerned about Gulf carriers, they shouldn't be running to Washington for protection. There's plenty they could do on their own, from using profits to improve their mediocre service, to burying the hatchet with Gulf carriers by offering to form partnerships,” Bloomberg’s Adam Minter writes.

-And flight attendant Heather Poole, who is an active Twitter user/blogger/author, wrote this post about airline uniforms and what she thinks about the redesign of American’s crew member uniforms.
