American Airlines is buying more regional jets for its subsidiary, PSA Airlines, to operate.
The Fort Worth-based carrier exercised an option to purchase 24 more Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft that will begin service starting in Novemter 2015. The aircraft will be flown under the American Eagle brand.
“We are pleased to add these new aircraft to our growing fleet and see the award as a reflection of American’s continued confidence in PSA to provide friendly, reliable and cost-effective regional services for American’s customers,” PSA Airlines president Dion Flannery said in a statement.
The aircraft has 76 seats with 12 first class, 36 main cabin extra and 28 main cabin seats.
