-Two different airline union strikes in Europe have disrupted travel plans for over 100,000 passengers since Friday. Labor strikes at Air France and Scandinavian airline SAS have caused hundreds of short-haul flights to be canceled in Europe, according to this article in USA Today.
-Consumer complaints about U.S. airlines dropped 20 percent, with 870 complaints in April, as more flights arrived on-time. ABC News reports that airlines reported 84.5 percent of its flights arrived on time in April.
-Cranky Flier Brett Snyder was unimpressed with American Airlines’ roll out of changes to its AAdvantage program last week. “I get that there’s something to be said for conformity. It makes it easier for travelers to compare what they’ll get from each airline, but it also means that nobody’s program stands out,” Snyder wrote in this blog post.
