-Planes may once again undergo maintenance at the former American Airlines’ maintenance faciliy at Alliance Airport in north Fort Worth. My colleague, Sandra Baker, reported on Friday that GDC Technics of San Antonio is looking to lease half of the hangar and warehouse space at the maintenance facility. The company handles modifications for commercial, VIP and military aircraft and expects to have as many as 600 workers within five years at the Alliance building, the article says.
-Almost 6,000 flights have been cancelled ahead of the monster snowstorm that is expected to hit the East Coast late Monday into Tuesday. According to USA Today, most airlines said they would waive change fees for customers scheduled to fly in and out of the Northeast the next few days.
-American Airlines’ pilots are voting on a new contract with results expected on Friday. One of the main issues that pilots seem to be focused on is healthcare and Cranky Flier, Brett Snyder wrote this blog post explaining what the hubbub is all about.
