The September 1973 dedication of the new Dallas/Fort Worth Airport was more like a display of the day’s best and biggest aircraft.
And one of the aircraft that the public was able to tour and view was a C5A Galaxy. The caption of this photo published on September 23, 1973 said it was the star attraction.
“The C5A Galaxy, said to be the world’s largest aircraft, was a crowd pleaser at the dedication of the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Saturday. The nose of the gigantic cargo aircraft was lifted, and crowds inspeted the interior of the plane,” the caption read.
