-Virgin America passengers are worried their favorite airline may lose some of its coolness factor when it’s purchased by Alaska Airlines, the New York Times reports. “I think of it as a young, hip airline. Alaska is more of a friendly aunt,” one customer said.
-Frontier Airlines has canceled an online contest to pick a mascot to put on the tail of one of its planes due to fraudulent voting. The carrier said it discovered many votes for several animal contestants were submitted by automated software and not individual votes, according to the Los Angeles Times.
-Tampa Airport is a favorite among the flying public, according to a new rport from AirportXP. The firm surveyed more than 170,000 passengers flying through U.S. airports from November to February and Tampa performed the best, USA Today reports. Omaha’s Eppley Airfield and Washington’s Bellingham International were also the top-rated medium and small airports.
