-Searchers have recovered one of the black boxes from Air Asia flight QZ8501 which crashed into the Java Sea last month. The other black box was found under debris near the plane’s wing which suggests the aircraft broke apart when it hit the water, CNN reports.
-Website AirlineRatings.com came out with its list of the world’s ten safest airlines last week. Australian carrier, Qantas Airways, was named the safest and not a single U.S. carrier managed to crack the top ten.
-Thirteen United Airlines flight attendants are asking for their jobs back, saying the airline wrongfully terminated them after they refused to work a flight when menacing images were found on the belly of the aircraft. According to the Chicago Tribune, the words “bye bye” were written in the oil residue on the aircraft’s tail accompanied by a smiley face and a frowning face. The flight attendants believed there was a potential threat and ultimately the flight was canceled.
