-American Airlines will build five new gates at Chicago O’Hare International airport as part of a development deal announced on Sunday. The Chicago Tribune reports that the gates will be constructed at Terminal 3 and should be open by 2018. American will fund the project and it’s the first major gate expansion at O’Hare since 1993.

-Seaport Airlines, a small commuter airline, announced it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the Associated Press says. The airline expects to continue operating its current schedule of flights. The company’s chief executive Rob Kinney has also resigned.

-And Turkish Airlines used two Super Bowl ads to announce their new destinations: Gotham City and Metropolis. I wonder if you have to connect through Istanbul to get there?
