Southwest Airlines and its flight instructors union have reached a tentative agreement, the Dallas-based carrier announced on Friday.
The deal with the Transport Workers Union Local 557 was reached about a month after the workers current contract became amendable.
“We are pleased we could reach an agreement quickly on a contract that recognizes the contributions of our Instructors and supports our low-fare brand,” said Southwest senior director of labor relations Russell McCrady.
Details of the tentative agreement were not released on Friday. Members of the union still need to ratify the agreement which if approved, will expire in 2019.
