American offers mileage bonuses for AAdvantage members in 2015

Star-Telegram

American Airlines is offering bonus miles to customers who spend more on tickets in 2015.

The Fort Worth-based carrier said customers with elite status in the AAdvantage and Dividend Miles programs will receive more miles depending on the distance and if it is a first or business class ticket.

“A mile flown continues to be a mile earned in AAdvantage, and now we’re going to reward customers even more when they purchase a First or Business Class ticket,” said AAdvantage president Suzanne Rubin.

For example, an AAdvantage Platinum or Gold membmer who paid for a first class ticket on a trip between New York and Los Angeles would receive an additional 6,000 miles for the transcontinental trip. An Executive Platinum member would receive an additional 12,000 miles.

American previously announced it will be combining the US Airways’ Dividend Miles program into AAdvantage in the spring of 2015.

The charts outlining the bonus miles are below.
