-American Airlines sent the wrong A321 to Hawaii from Los Angeles last month, reported aviation blogger Brian Sumers. The carrier flew an Airbus A321 that did not have the required overwater certification to fly over the Pacific Ocean and by the time American realized the mistake, the aircraft was already half way to Hawaii. The return flight was canceled and the aircraft was ferried back to the mainland, the airline said.
-United Airlines CEO Jeff Smisek resigned from his position last week due to a federal investigation into possible bribery charges. The New York Times delved deeper in to how the CEO’s relationship with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey was uncovered during the ongoing “Bridgegate” investigation.
