DFW Airport is the ninth-busiest in the world

Dallas/Fort Worth Airport remained the ninth-busiest airport in the world, according to a new report from the Airports Council International rankings.

The airport had 63,554,402 million passengers in 2014, up 5.1 percent from the year before, and was the fourth-busiest in the U.S. Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport kept the top spot at the busiest airport in the world with over 96 million passengers.

“Passenger traffic remained resilient in the face of the global uncertainties that beleaguered many economies in 2013 and 2014,” said Angela Gittens, the director general of ACI World.

Los Angeles and Chicago O’Hare airports had more passengers than DFW in 2014. Chicago also had the most flights in the world while DFW ranked fourth.
