Southwest Airlines said its meteorologists approved their first-ever contract with the Dallas carrier.
The four-year contract includes wage increase and performance-based bonuses, the company said. The meteorologists were certified to join the Transport Workers Union in 2014 and initiated contract talks earlier this year.
“I am very pleased the negotiation committees worked together to complete an agreement in such a timely manner,” said Southwest vice president of network operations control Matt Hafner.
Earlier this week, the company’s flight dispatchers who are also represented by the TWU, approved a new four-year contract. Southwest is currently in contract talks with its pilots and flight attendants unions.
