Travelers at Dallas Love Field were plunged into darkness on Wednesday morning when the power went out at the airport’s terminal.
The city of Dallas said an “electrical failure” created delays in the ticketing and baggage claim area, causing long lines at the flight check-in desks and security checkpoints.
Power was restored in the early afternoon and Southwest Airlines, the airport’s largest carrier, said it was expecting to get back on schedule later in the day. No flights were canceled due to the outage, said Southwest spokesman Brian Parrish.
“We experienced some inbound and outbound flight delays at Dallas Love Field today due to an intermittent loss of electricity at the airport,” Parrish said. “However, power has recently been restored, and we are in the process of resuming normal operations.”
