Southwest Airlines plans to fly to Liberia, Costa Rica from Houston starting in November, pending government approval.
The Dallas-based carrier announced the new international route as it launched a fare sale for international destinations out of Houston Hobby. Southwest is in the process of building an international terminal at Hobby that is expected to open in October.
Southwest already plans to fly daily to San Jose, Costa Rica from Houston in October and began flying to San Jose from Baltimore in March.
Customers can begin booking flights to Costa Rica from Southwest.com. The airline plans to fly nonstop from Houston to Cancun, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, San Jose del Cabo and Belize City, Belize on October 15. Flights to Liberia and Montego Bay, Jamaica will start on November 1.
