American Airlines said its April passenger traffic dipped slightly, down 0.3 percent compared to the same month last year.
The Fort Worth-based carrier increased its capacity 1.3 percent in the month while its load factor declined 1.3 percentage points to 81.6 percent.
American told investors that it expects second quarter unit revenues to be down 4 to 6 percent. With fuel prices rising, the airline upped its previous fuel price guidance by 10 cents and now expects to pay between $1.94 and $1.99 per gallon.
