Southwest passenger traffic up 6 percent in February

Southwest Airlines said its passenger traffic grew 6 percent in February as the airline added 3.6 percent capacity to its network.

Planes were slightly less full as the Dallas-based airline’s load factor declined 0.2 percentage points to 79.9 percent. The airline continues to add routes

Southwest told investors that it expects unit revenues to have increased 1 percent in February when compared to the same month last year.

Shares of Southwest [ticker: LUV] were up 2.4 percent, trading around $43.97 in mid-morning trading.
