Southwest Airlines said its appearance technicians approved a new four-year contract on Tuesday.
The contract, which includes pay raises, will take effect immediately ahead of the group’s current contract that will become amendable in February. The appearance technicians, which clean the interior and exterior of the Dallas-based carrier’s aircraft, voted 88 percent in favor of the new contract.
“I am grateful our Appearance Technicians have a new contract that provides increased pay and benefits and supports the Company's long-term business plan,” said Southwest Airlines vice president of maintenance operations Landon Nitschke
The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association represents the over 200 Southwest appearance technicians.
