Hundreds of North Texas students got a first hand look at commercial and military aviation careers on Friday.
As part of this weekend’s Sky Ball gala, the students visited American Airlines’ maintenance hangar at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport where they could interact with thirty different types of aircraft. They were also able to talk with military and commercial aviators about what their professions and how they might be able to get a job in the aviation industry.
Every year, American partners with the Airpower Foundation to present the Sky Ball which raises money for various nonprofits that support military members, veterans and their families. The event raised more than $2.2 million last year. The gala, which will be held at the American hangar, will be headlined by country singer Tim McGraw.
