Southwest Airlines said its passenger traffic in August rose 3.6 percent as the carrier added 4.6 percent more capacity to its network.
However, planes were not as full for the Dallas-based carrier as its load factor declined 0.8 percentage points to 84.6 percent when compared to August 2015.
Southwest said it expects unit revenues to decline 3.5 percent to 4.5 percent in the third quarter, with about 0.5 points of the decline caused by the computer outage that forced Southwest to cancel hundreds of flights in August.
