If you frequent Dallas Fort Worth Airport, you may already feel like the sprawling aviation hub is its own city.
And now, DFW Airport has its own emergency room and urgent care center.
The Code 3 Emergency Room and Urgent Care center will celebrate its grand opening Thursday at 2390 Innovation Drive, near the rental car terminal. But it has actually been unofficially open for several days and, according to a spokeswoman, had already saved a life.
The 24-hour facility features a full-service emergency room with on-site CT scanner. Also available are ultrasound, X-ray, a laboratory and pharmacy.
"Our staff and facility provide VIP care at an affordable cost, with no wait times, so that travelers, residents and employees can quickly get back on their journeys," said Dr. Carrie de Moor, Code 3 chief executive and founder. "We want people to know you don't have to have a boarding pass to be treated. Just come in. "
The facility is owned by Code 3 Emergency Partners, a private company.
The company also operates emergency/urgent care centers in Carrollton, McKinney, Denton, Rockport and Mesquite — and also recently opened an urgent care facility inside Las Vegas' McCarran Airport.
