Maple Street Biscuit Company, featured on ‘Food Network,’ expanding in Tarrant County
Maple Street Biscuit Company is opening a third location in the Metroplex, this one in southern Tarrant County.
Construction begins in Mansfield in August for the restaurant that claims it serves scratch-made “biscuits that wow,” such as The Squawking Goat (battered chicken strips, toasted goat cheese and pepper jelly); The Cowboy (chicken fried steak, bacon, cheddar, egg and gravy); and The Farmer (apple butter, fried chicken strips, bacon and cheddar).
The restaurant’s original location in Jacksonville, Florida, was featured on an episode of “Guilty Pleasures” on the Food Network.
Menus also include waffles, “frittaffles” and specialty coffee drinks.
The location is a newly built center at 1660 E. Broad St., according to a filing with the state Department of Licensing and Regulation. It should open in spring 2024.
Other Metroplex locations are on Keller Parkway and in Frisco.
Who owns Maple Street Biscuit Company?
Maple Street Biscuit Company is owned by Cracker Barrel, which purchased the company in 2019 for $36 million. At the time, it had 28 company-owned and five franchised locations in seven states.
Today there are about 47 locations in 10 states, including five in Texas (San Antonio, Bee Cave near Austin, and Katy, in addition to the two in the Metroplex). Most are in the South, with the exception of one in Ohio.
Maple Street was founded in 2012 in Jacksonville and became one of the most popular restaurants in the city.
