Operated separately by siblings, two Fort Worth funeral homes now have a single owner

Two Fort Worth funeral homes that had been operated separately by siblings now have one owner.

Martin Thompson, president of Martin Thompson & Son Cremation & Funeral Service, said Wednesday that he had purchased Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, whose president had been his sister, Cindy Thompson.

Martin Thompson did not release the purchase price. The transaction closed on April 10.

The combined companies are to be called Thompsons Cremations & Funeral Services, according to a statement from Martin Thompson.

Martin and his son, Jon Thompson, will continue to work from their headquarters at 6009 Wedgwood Drive.

With the acquisition, they will also operate Thompson’s Harveson & Cole at 4350 River Oaks Blvd. The former TH&C property on Eighth Avenue was sold in March, according to the statement.
