The TCU women’s basketball team beat Missouri State 82-68 on Saturday in the consolation game of the OMNI Classic at the Coors Events Center.
Junior guard Zahna Medley bounced back from a tough outing Friday with a season-best 29 points off a 10-of-13 effort from the field, including a 5-of-7 mark from 3-point range.
Senior guard Donielle Breaux had 17 points and eight rebounds.
Senior Chelsea Prince swarmed the Lady Bears on defense, matching a career high with seven steals to go with five rebounds and four assists.
The Horned Frogs closed the opening half when sophomore forward Jada Butts sank a long jumper at the buzzer for a 37-28 advantage.
The Frogs opened the second half with their fourth bucket from downtown when Medley found Breaux open at the top of the key to push the lead to 40-28.
TCU’s defense fueled a quick 6-0 run with back-to-back steals for a 14-point advantage, and Medley and Breaux hit back-to-back long-range buckets with under 10 minutes to play for an 18-point lead.
