Romo happy to have Smith on his blindside.

OXNARD, Calif. No one was happier than quarterback Tony Romo when the Dallas Cowboys locked up left tackle Tyron Smith with an eight-year, $97.6 million contract extension.

Smith might not yet be the best tackle in the league, but at this point it doesn't take long to call roll. He allowed just one sack in 2013 in what was his first Pro Bowl season and is only expected to get better.

Romo acknowledges that he is at ease dropping back to pass with Smith watching his blindside.

"Yes there is," Romo said. "There is an ease because he is there. Not very often, but he may, like anybody, get beat. You are not going to see that happen multiple times.”
