Hot bats fuel Fort Worth Cats’ victory over RGV

The Fort Worth Cats used a pivotal four-run rally in the fifth inning to go ahead for good in a back-and-forth game with the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings, winning 9-5 on Tuesday.

Five Cats had multiple hits, and Ryan Lashley led the offense with three hits and two runs scored. Sean O’Connell and Cory Morales each chipped in two RBIs.

Fort Worth starter Nick Thornton (4-2) allowed five runs (three earned) over six innings to earn the win.
