UT Arlington right-hander Daniel Milliman allowed two runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings to lead the Mavericks to a 6-4 victory at Georgia State. UTA took two straight to win the road series after dropping Friday’s opener 11-10.

UTA (16-20) improved to 8-7 in the Sun Belt Conference play after starting 1-5. The Mavericks have won three straight conference series. Georgia State (17-20 overall, 5-10) fell behind 3-0 in the fourth inning.

Milliman, a Fort Worth Southwest grad, improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in league play. He struck out three and walked one. He allowed a solo home run in the fifth inning, but Matt Shortall, Greg McCall and Justin Copeland all knocked in runs in the sixth for a 6-1 UTA lead.
