Now that the Dallas Cowboys preseason schedule has been announced, the big question is how it will affect the team’s training camp in Oxnard, Calif.
The Cowboys have four preseason games. They play at San Diego during the week of Aug. 7-10, host Baltimore the week of Aug. 14-18, travel to Miami the week of Aug. 21-24, and finish at home against Denver the week of Aug. 28-31.
More specific dates and times will be announced later. All four games will be televised locally on KTVT/Ch. 11.
The game against the Chargers keeps the tradition of playing an early preseason game on the West Coast to accommodate the team’s training camp in Oxnard.

The Cowboys usually have their first two preseason games on the West Coast while there for training camp and have the last two at home at AT&T Stadium.
But AT&T Stadium threw the Cowboys a curve a few months ago when they contracted a concert by One Direction during the time usually slated for the third preseason game.
So the Cowboys will return to Texas for the second preseason game against Baltimore.
At issue is whether the Cowboys return to Oxnard for training camp after the Ravens game or finish camp at the team’s Valley Ranch training facility.
The Cowboys have yet to release their training camp schedule, but odds are that they will have a short camp in Oxnard and stay in the Metroplex after the Ravens game because the third preseason game is at Miami.
Per a source, the Cowboys had planned to return to Oxnard after the Ravens game, but that was before Wednesday’s schedule release and the news they would be playing at Miami in Week 3.
It doesn’t make financial or logistical sense to fly from California to Miami.
The Denver game will feature the return of defensive end DeMarcus Ware, who was released by the Cowboys in March and signed to a three-year, $30 million contract by the Broncos.
It’s unlikely Ware will play in the fourth preseason game because it’s too close to the season opener, but it will give Cowboys fans a chance to show appreciation for his time with the team.
The 2014 preseason will kick off on Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio, when the Buffalo Bills face the New York Giants in the Hall of Fame Game. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on KXAS/Ch. 5.
On Aug. 24, the Arizona Cardinals will host the Cincinnati Bengals at University of Phoenix Stadium, home of both the 2015 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIX.
