Memorable tournament ends on sour note for Kentucky’s Aaron Harrison

Aaron Harrison had become arguably the biggest star of the NCAA Tournament, hitting big shot after big shot to carry Kentucky into the championship game.

Nobody will forget his game-winning 3-pointers against Michigan to clinch a Final Four berth and Wisconsin to clinch a spot in the title game, as well as his go-ahead 3 against Louisville in the Sweet 16. But he didn’t display his clutch gene in the title game, as UConn led from start-to-finish in a 60-54 victory.

“Those shots don’t mean anything now,” Harrison said. “If I could take those shots back and somebody else hits those shots and we win this game … I’d be the happiest person in the world.”

Harrison went 1-for-5 from 3-point range Monday and scored only seven points, his tournament low.
