Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Josh Cochran, who has started 23 games in his college career, will not return for his senior season in 2014 because of a recurring shoulder injury, school officials announced Friday.
Cochran started 19 consecutive games prior to his injury.
In addition, team trainers said four players have undergone successful postseason surgeries: receiver Bryant Jackson (foot), linebacker Dalton Santos (hip), linebacker Timothy Cole (hip) and defensive tackle Paul Boyette Jr. (shoulder).
Santos and Cole are expected to take part in spring drills. Jackson and Boyette are expected to return for summer workouts.
