Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
Mississippi vs. Georgia Tech
2:15 p.m. Monday, LP Field, Nashville
Records: Ole Miss 7-5, 3-5; Georgia Tech 7-5, 3-5
Key points: Ole Miss and Georgia Tech have a lot in common this season. The teams have identical records. The Rebels and Yellow Jackets both started the season hot at 3-0 before losing three straight. Georgia Tech’s 311.4 rushing yards a game ranks fourth in the nation, and the Ole Miss defense will be forced to defend the option attack, led by quarterback Vad Lee and running back David Sims. Ole Miss runs a fast-paced attack, with QB Bo Wallace spreading the ball around to talented wide receivers and running backs. The Yellow Jackets will try to slow down the Rebels and keep Wallace and company off the field with long drives. This game should be a battle of playing styles.
Tarrant ties: Brothers Robert (QB) and John (WR) Ratliff, out of Nolan Catholic, are on the Ole Miss roster. Robert played in three games this season and completed three passes for 24 yards.
