Seguin’s four goals help spark Stars past Flames

Tyler Seguin scored four goals and Jamie Benn had a goal and five assists to lead the Dallas Stars to a 7-3 victory Thursday over the Calgary Flames.

The victory was the fifth in six games for the Stars and the fifth straight on the road. The Stars were coming off a late 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night.

Stephane Robidas got Dallas on the board in the first period, but the Stars pulled away with a four-goal second period, including two goals by Seguin. Benn also had a goal in the period, along with Ryan Garbutt before Calgary got on the board on Matt Stajan’s goal at the 15:01 mark of the period.

Seguin added two more goals in the third period. Benn assisted on all four of Seguin’s goals.

While Thursday’s game was about offense, Wednesday night’s late game was about defense as Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen stopped 22 shots for his 23rd career shutout in a 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Rich Peverley, Antoine Roussel and Tyler Seguin scored for the Stars.

The Oilers lost their fourth straight and are 1-8-1 in their last 10 games.
