Why does Fort Worth still chop down a tree that’s been standing for probably a hundred years just to wind up rotting away on display for no good reason? Not to mention the cost involved with hauling it from Michigan. There are better ways to celebrate Christmas. Patti Smith
I think it is a wonderful tradition that goes back a couple of hundred years. A city Christmas tree probably says and means more than all the millions of tinsel trees that plague the malls, advertising, etc., etc. To me it means a simple Christmas, not the abomination the holiday has become these days.
